Guide to Caring for Luxury Vinyl Floors

Luxury vinyl floors are incredibly low maintenance, but following a few simple care guidelines will keep them looking beautiful for their entire lifespan.

Regular sweeping or vacuuming is the foundation of LVP care. Use a soft-bristle broom or a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar to avoid scratching the surface.

For deeper cleaning, damp mop with a manufacturer-approved vinyl floor cleaner. LVP's waterproof construction means you can be more liberal with water than with hardwood, but avoid leaving standing water along edges.

Protect your floors from furniture damage with felt pads under chair and table legs. Use caster cups under heavy furniture and rolling chair mats in office areas.

While LVP is highly resistant to fading, excessive direct sunlight can affect any flooring over time. Use window treatments to manage sun exposure, especially in south and west-facing rooms.
